Oxfam1000 is an ambitious initiative to raise one million dollars a year and break the cycle of poverty in our region.

New Zealanders are the most generous people in the world, according to the World Giving Index. It's a title we can be proud of – yet it’s one we must also live up to.

Significant action is needed urgently. Many nations in our own neighbourhood are among the poorest in the world, and women, men and children still struggle to survive each day.

We must address poverty in our region.

That’s why we have begun this nationwide search for 1000 special supporters to join Oxfam 1000.

If you’ve been waiting for the right time to do something a little bolder, that time has arrived.

Oxfam 1000 is an ambitious initiative to raise one million dollars a year and break the cycle of poverty in our region.

By joining Oxfam 1000 , you commit to make a donation of $1,000 over the year.

It breaks down at less than $20 a week for you. But if only 1000 supporters do the same it becomes $20,000 a week!

In return for your generosity we’ll report back to you personally about how your gifts are changing lives through a detailed Oxfam 1000 update every six months.

Being able to count on your support means we’ll be able to work alongside communities for as long as it takes to improve things. So you can be assured that your gift will give what’s needed to deliver real change – that lasts.
