There is still only a limited range of Fairtrade products available in most supermarkets here. But we shoppers have the power to do something about that. If we all tell our local supermarkets to stock more Fairtrade products – they’ll have to listen.

Over 7000 people took part in the 2008 New Zealand’s Biggest Coffee Break – raising awareness about Fairtrade coffee and raising money for Oxfam’s work. A huge thank you to all our committed supporters who made it happen and to everyone who took part.

Oxfam partner wins fair trade deal with The Body Shop
Oxfam’s partner in Samoa, Women in Business has recently secured a deal to supply the Body Shop International with organic coconut oil under the Body Shop’s Community Trade programme, which uses fair trade principles. The deal is a significant break-through for Women in Business who work with farmers throughout Samoa to help them get a better deal for their products through selling to the organic and fair trade markets.
