Training weekends are specially organised training events for you and your team. These two day events feature night and day training walks and are the closest simulation of Oxfam Trailwalker you will get.

For many teams training weekends will be a reality check. But they are tough on purpose and scheduled so that you have enough time to step up your training. They’re also a great chance to get your support crew involved so they can practice your teams event game plan too.

Why you don’t want to miss it:

  • Oxfam Trailwalker Events Team on site – pick our brains on everything and anything – fundraising ideas, training advice, OTW course technicalities, you want to know it, we’ll answer it!

  • Test your endurance on off road trails

  • Perfect your blister prevention

  • Try out your headlamp whilst practising walking in the dark – sounds easy but it’s not when you’re tired!

  • Trial your event food and drink plan

  • Learn simple fundraising strategies

  • Collect extra resources for your next fundraising event

  • See Bivouac gear demonstrations and ask advice

  • Seek expert podiatry advice

  • Upgrade your fundraising commitment for instant rewards

See you there!

Training tip

Test out your gear on your training walks. Figure out what works and what doesn't now rather than at the event. Click here to check out the recommended gear checklist for what you need to wear and carry.
