  • Ask staff to submit their favourite recipe using fairly traded ingredients to create a company recipe book which can be sold internally to raise money towards your overall Coffee Break fundraising efforts
  • Request an entry fee donation to the morning tea
  • Host a raffle or auction with prizes donated by the organisation or staff
  • Theme the event with a prize for the best effort
  • If you are a workplace giving partner, allow an online one-off payroll donation to support the event

"This is a practical and fun way to get staff involved and raise their awareness of fairtrade. To us it’s about supporting better working conditions, better prices and fair terms of trade for farmers in the developing world, but also advocating for other tourism businesses to do the same by supporting Oxfam’s Biggest Coffee Break."
- Laura Fayerman, Events and Economic Development Sustainability Adviser, Auckland Tourism, Events and Economic Development.

"Well...What a fabulous turnout and so much food! Easy and enjoyable fundraising for such a worthwhile cause. Everyone appreciated the DVD raising awareness of Fair Trade. It was great to be a part of something so important to the world as a whole".
- Rachel, Colbert Cooper Accountants, Levin

"We held a Oxfam Coffee Break at morning tea and invited people to enter a bake-off using at least one fairtrade ingredient. It was a big hit – someone even entered a curry with fairtrade rice! Everyone loved the food and coffee and it was great to share the fairtrade message with so many people using the DVD and other materials provided by Oxfam."
Two Degrees, Auckland

"We arranged a coffee morning which proved to be not only good fun but a great team building event too. Thanks Oxfam for sending all the fantastic collateral, posters and video to help us with our event and by helping us to realise that a little event can help make a big difference not only in making our team work together better but also helping to do something that can positively affect poverty and injustice in the world."
- Kate, Auckland Transport
