| A fair deal for the Pacific now |
The world's developed nations are most responsible for climate change, but people in poor countries are paying the highest price.
Last year world leaders met in Cancun, Mexico to negotiate a global climate treaty. The world needs your help. We need a fair deal that stops climate change in its tracks and adequately deals with the unavoidable effects, which are hitting poor countries first and worst. Oxfam New Zealand's Executive Director Barry Coates was writing live from Cancun - read his blog here.
Come and see Oxfam’s amazing new photographic exhibition Land Is Life. In August 2010 award-winning photographer Rodney Dekker travelled to Tuvalu and Kiribati to capture stories and images of how climate change is affecting daily life on these fragile islands. We’ve selected the best of these images for our Land Is Life photo exhibition. In March 2011 Land is Life was displayed at Auckland's Pasifika festival and Polyfest in Manukau.
Oxfam has been gathering petition signatures to urge the New Zealand Government to deliver a fair deal on climate change at November’s UN climate negotiations in Cancun, Mexico.

Global Week of Action on Climate Change
On 10/10/10 Oxfam participated in some of the amazing 7347 events that took place in 188 countries as part of the global day of doing – including in Tanzania and Bangladesh. You can now view photos and a slideshow of these events.
We've also made some great videos for the Global Action Week, which we hope will help to raise awareness of climate change in the Pacific Islands.

Sisters on the Planet is a series of videos that tell the stories of five women from very different parts of the world. They face unique challenges but together are bringing about change. These stories offer us hope in the face of increasingly bleak climate predictions.
Become part of Sisters on the Planet. Organise a screening of Sisters in your home, office, your school, church, or in your local community cinema. Even better, turn your mum or your best friend into a Sister and make a film showing how they are changing their own lives to make a difference. Send it our way and it could end up on our website!
