Auckland Marathon: October 30, 2011

"Yesterday I ran the Auckland Marathon for Oxfam. Today I have legs of concrete and am smiling. The thought of telling sponsors I hadn’t made it was a strong driver to keep going. And what a worthy cause"
Sam Trowsdale,
Oxfam marathon runner.

You’ve got the power to do something about unfair labour practices!

This year Oxfam New Zealand had eight half and seven full marathon entries for the Auckland Marathon 2011. By committing to raise a minimum of $750 in sponsorship, we offered runners one of our places for exactly what we paid for it and the chance to fight for fair - helping us bring an end the unfair labour practices that contribute to the injustice of poverty.

Thank you to our runners!

Thank you to our wonderful supporters running for Oxfam in the 2011 Auckland Marathon.

Run the Auckland Marathon with Oxfam and yours won’t be the only life that changes forever…

Fight for fair and run the Auckland marathon to fundraise for Oxfam and fight to end unfair labour practises which contribute to the injustice of poverty.

Logo: Make Trade FairOxfam campaigns, along with other international organisations, to persuade major companies to improve the rights and conditions of workers. We’re working to ensure that the big brands treat their workers with respect and pay them a fair wage.

Unfair trade stretches far beyond the sportswear industry. Oxfam's ongoing campaigning, advocacy and research work aims to establish economic and social systems that are fair to the world’s poorest people, allowing them to realise their basic rights.
