Environmental Sustainability Intern

Do you have an interest in environmental sustainability and would you like to be part of an award winning charity event? Then an internship with our Events team is exactly what you are looking for!

In this role, you will be providing valuable support to the Events Operations Coordinator, by taking the lead in pulling together and implementing the Environmental Plan for our flagship Oxfam Trailwalker event – oxfamtrailwalker.org.nz, which raises around $1 million per annum for Oxfam’s advocacy humanitarian and development work.

Our ideal candidate will be a self starter with some work experience gained in an events environment, good customer care and advanced IT skills and knowledge of and/or strong interest in environmental sustainability issues.

Based in Auckland, this internship starts on 7 January 2014, working two days per week for around three months and then full time between 2 – 8 April 2014, including the OTW event weekend on 5/6 April, at the event location in Taupo.

In addition to inspiring work colleagues, this internship offers you the opportunity to learn about events management and fundraising, gain skills and experience for a respected, three times environmental award winning charity event and to be part of a lively, fun team.
