We are looking for a confident, capable individual to develop and implement strategies to ensure the safe and cost-effective delivery of our growing portfolio of fundraising events. You will be responsible for planning and managing on the day event delivery, supplier and sponsorship management and for procuring equipment and volunteers needed to deliver high quality events that will enhance Oxfam New Zealand’s reputation.
If you have good events, project and supplier management experience, great negotiation and relationship management skills, are used to working under pressure and to deadlines, and don’t get fazed by large scale events, then this is the job for you. In particular, you will have a key role in organising our “world famous in NZ” Oxfam Trailwalker 100km event and through the funds raised, you will help Oxfam eradicate poverty and injustice in the world. An interest in outdoor pursuits is beneficial and a full drivers licence (manual gears) is required. A practical, solution orientated approach, a commitment to sustainability, health and safety and Oxfam’s values are essential.
In return, you will have unique opportunities to create and achieve event goals not possible elsewhere. Based in central Auckland, the post has a starting salary of $54,000 per annum (and possibly more depending on the skills and experience of the successful candidate).
