Contract for Services (12 Months estimated)

Oxfam New Zealand (ONZ) is a leading international development agency affiliated to Oxfam International, which comprises a confederation of 17 Oxfam affiliates working in more than 90 countries around the world. Oxfam takes a rights-based approach to supporting the achievement of human rights and building capabilities that are essential for vulnerable and disadvantaged people so that they may gain access to resources and take advantage of opportunities to improve their lives. This is achieved by providing practical support to local partners and by advocating for changes to the structures and policies that keep people in poverty.

Oxfam is changing the way it organises and supports its international programming work, to enhance coherence, effectiveness and impact. ONZ is in the process of becoming the managing Oxfam affiliate in the Pacific region and is now at a point where it needs to implement systems that provide the “tools” that assist and support the management and delivery of our Programmes. The FMIS must be compatible with, and able to connect within, the global Oxfam shared services framework and as such, experience with Microsoft Dynamics is essential

We seek to an experienced senior level Project Manager with a track record of being able to manage this significant project from developing system specifications, product and vendor evaluations and selection, and contract negotiations; to implementation, “go live” testing and post implementation review.

It is essential that in addition to the technical, systems infrastructure knowledge, operational and project management experience, the successful candidate must have experience with FMIS implementation.

Based in our Auckland office, the successful candidate will work closely with the Operations Director who is the Project Sponsor, and must have experience in a global non-government organisation (iNGO) environment.

Experience with, and a good understanding of the Oxfam vision and culture would be highly desirable as this role will be required to work internally across all functions, and externally with other Oxfam affiliates globally and across the various functions. The initial ONZ FMIS Working Group is made up of 12 staff and includes representatives from the Pacific region and Oxfam Australia.

You will need to show experience with successful end-to-end delivery of projects, within agreed time, cost and quality parameters. Being self-managing and able to communicate across all levels, including at Director and governance committee level, is a key requirement. You will also possess excellent influencing, brokering, motivating and negotiation skills, and have the ability to establish strong partnerships with key stakeholders.

If you have the personal qualities and the senior level specific experience we seek, to apply, please send an up-to-date CV and covering letter to the Operation Director, selwyn.bradley@oxfam.org.nz.  Applications close at noon on Thursday, April 17, 2014. We will discuss in detail the tasks involved and further background information with short listed applicants.
