Oxfam New Zealand (ONZ) is an independent, rights-based development agency, affiliated to Oxfam International. Working with partners in the Pacific and South-east Asia regions,we support poor and disadvantaged communities to achieve basic human rights and build capabilities to access resources and take advantage of opportunities to improve their lives.
We currently seek to fill the key position of Programme Services Manager, heading up a small Programme Services Unit (PSU), which is responsible for providing a range of services to support the effective implementation and management of ONZ’s international programmes. You will also play a key role in increasing and diversifying current institutional funding sources, be accountable for developing and implementing appropriate regional and country funding strategies, and responsible for maintaining processes that will ensure quality donor submissions, effective contract management and strong relationships with key donors.
Our ideal candidate will have an entrepreneurial approach to developing fundraising opportunities, a track record of success proposal preparation, securing and managing significant funding from institutional donors/trusts/foundations, experience of strategy development and implementation and an understanding of key trends in official development assistance, donor policy and practice, and funding mechanisms.
You will also have strong IT and report writing skills, financial management experience, experience of managing others, of capacity building and delivering outcome focused training activities, as well as an ability to develop effective networks and relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders. A relevant degree, or equivalent experience, and the capacity to work under pressure and to tight deadlines are also expected.
