Oxfam is a global movement of people working together for a future without poverty. We give a hand up, not a hand out – to create positive change that lasts.
Working with people caught in poverty overseas – especially the Pacific and Southeast Asia – Oxfam provides practical support to achieve essentials like safe water, basic education and a reliable food supply. When natural disasters or conflicts strike, we are there, not only to save lives but to help communities recover. We also ensure there are lasting solutions by advocating for change to the structures and policies that keep communities in poverty.
Oxfam New Zealand has recently reviewed its relationships function, resulting in the establishment of a Supporter Relations team and a new Relationships Fundraising team. The postholder will head up this second team and will have the key responsibility of developing, planning and evaluating relationship fundraising opportunities with high net worth audiences, with the aim of achieving income growth through the expansion and shared opportunity development of Oxfam’s corporate, major giving, community, In memory, bequest and trusts fundraising activity. The role will also manage a small team of specialist fundraisers.
An excellent communicator and strategic thinker, you will have a track record of success in either Corporate Fundraising or Major Giving, experience of managing fundraising products and developing associated collateral materials and of designing and managing ‘sales pipeline’ processes and systems that support fundraising activity. A good knowledge of fundraising principles, particularly in the areas of bequest, trust and community fundraising, are equally important as is a good knowledge of how fundraising disciplines can interlink to strengthen the supporter journey plus strong financial & IT skills, project and staff management experience.
This is a great opportunity to take an underdeveloped area with growth potential to the next level with one of New Zealand’s most respected charities, and at the same time gain job and personal satisfaction through your contribution to Oxfam’s life-giving work. The post is based in central Auckland and attracts a salary of NZ$67,578-71,333 per annum (depending on the skills and experience of the successful applicant).
