It’s time to ask candidates the important questions

The election – and our chance to have a say in what kind of New Zealand we want – is just weeks away. And for the future of our planet and its people, we must get climate change action front and centre by asking candidates the important questions.

Now is the perfect time to bring up this issue with your local candidates. They are holding public meetings in their area to show you who they are, and to try and win your vote – after all, their jobs are in your hands. So tell them what you care about – they’re listening!

What important questions can you ask them?

Will your party commit to putting climate law, like a Zero Carbon Act, in place in New Zealand? If not, why not?

How will you ensure that we keep our emissions down to a level where our climate does not warm up more than 2C - the global target we said we’d stick to when we signed the Paris Agreement?

Can you please direct us to the research that proves your proposed solution is enough?

When can I meet my electorate’s candidates?

See the map below to find out when you can meet the candidates in your area.

This map is incomplete and live – if we’ve missed the meeting in your area, please let us know the details and we’ll add it for others to see.
