Together, with partners like volunteers with the Tonga National Youth Congress (above) we are building a more just, inclusive, and sustainable world for people who lose their homes or livelihoods due to disasters.
Emergency funds are crucial for Oxfam to act quickly whenever disasters occur around the world. With your help, we can launch a rapid response after tropical cyclones, earthquakes or human-made accidents. For example, when an underwater volcano near Tonga erupted, causing tsunami waves and centimetres of ash to fall on crops and farms, Oxfam's local partner was able to immediately respond, purifying and distributing clean water. Our work also helps local farmers and fishermen to rebuild their businesses that were destroyed by tidal waves and ash.
