Nearly all of Oxfam's work is designed to improve life for women in the Pacific and beyond. We train teachers and install private toilets in rural schools so that teenage girls can continue their education, rather than staying home on days they have their periods. We work with local partners to set up savings clubs for women, help them gain leadership positions, be involved in community decision-making, and get climate funding from their governments. All of our work aims to change unfair underlying systems, so that women everywhere can realise their power and get the education, resources, and opportunities they need not just to survive, but thrive.
