In Papua New Guinea, 70% of people do not have access to clean drinking water, and that percentage is even higher in rural areas. Oxfam works with local partners to improve access to basic sanitation and safe water especially in health facilities in the Eastern Highlands of PNG. By building water tanks, latrines, and showers, we're helping over 32,000 people stay healthy. This means patients and healthcare workers always have clean water to wash with, preventing the spread of disease. All of our work aims to change unfair underlying systems, so that everyone has the education, resources, and opportunities they need not just to survive, but thrive.
