Events Coordination Intern

If you have great administration,  people and organisational skills, an interest environmental sustainability and would like to gain valuable work experience in events management, then we have your ideal role.  This internship sits within Oxfam New Zealand’s Events Fundraising team which raises $1 million+ per annum in support of Oxfam’s life giving work.

You will be helping to deliver Oxfam’s flagship event Oxfam Trailwalker (OTW), an event which raises valuable funds for Oxfam’s advocacy, humanitarian and development work. 

More specifically, you will be providing practical logistics support to the Events Operations Coordinator and will continue the award winning environment sustainability focus of OTW.  You will also have the opportunity to gain skills and experience in designing and delivering event operational plans to an award winning standard, independently manage event projects, understand the environmental impact of a mass participation event and to work closely with a range of key stakeholders.

Highly organized, flexible, people focused, IT savvy, a team player with great communication skills, you will also have some administration and events experience and an active interest in environmental sustainability. A current drivers’ license (manual gears) is a must.

Starting at the end of January 2017 and working through to 27 May 2017, the initial commitment is 16 hours per week,  rising to full time in the lead up to and during the event weekend ( from 20-27 March 2017, operating from our  events base in Whakatane). The role then reverts to 16 hours per week for the remaining two months. Times and days of work are flexible and can be discussed further with the successful applicant.
