Supporter Relations Representative (tele-fundraising & administration, part-time)

Oxfam New Zealand is part of a global organisation dedicated to overcoming poverty and social injustice. Working with people caught in extreme poverty (especially in the Pacific and Asia), we provide practical support with essentials like safe water, basic education and a reliable food supply.  When natural disasters or conflicts strike, Oxfam is there, to not only to save lives, but to help communities recover. We also seek to ensure there’s lasting solutions by advocating for change to the structures and policies that keep communities in poverty.

We currently have a vacancy in our Supporter Relations team for an outgoing, people orientated individual with strong administration and tele-fundraising experience. You will be in contact with new and existing Oxfam supporters via the phone, email and in person and will be telling them about Oxfam’s current humanitarian, advocacy and development work. You will be taking supporters on a  journey that results in deeper engagement, for longer with Oxfam, and will help to maintain the administrative elements of our regular giving programmes (Oxfam+Me, Oxfam100, Oxfam 1000), fulfilling small volume support materials as well as providing general administrative support.

Our ideal candidate will have experience of tele-fundraising (telesales experience and/or experience of cross calling to incoming callers would also be useful),  good administration experience, ideally gained in a marketing or fundraising function, an interest in development and social justice issues and excellent written and telephone communication skills.  A strong team player, you will also be able to work well independently, possess good interpersonal, time management and organisational skills, have good attention to detail, strong data entry and IT skills and  experience of using Microsoft Office and relational databases (preferably Raiser’s Edge).  

Working 5 hours per day, you will be undertaking shifts between 12.00 – 8.30 pm, Monday - Thursday, and 9.30 am – 5.00 pm on Fridays. While start and end times will be agreed, some flexibility may be required throughout the year as outbound calling requirements will vary. Based in Central Auckland, we offer a friendly work environment, passionate colleagues and a salary of $19.37 per hour (and possibly more depending on the skills and experience of the successful post holder).
