Amina Abdi is doing everything she can to provide for her children. In Ethiopia, her community’s water supply has disappeared, forcing her to walk hours each day just to find clean water.

“Even when I was pregnant, I went. You are also worried about your other children that you left at home,” Amina shared.

When Amina’s eldest daughter was old enough, she began making that same long journey herself. She leaves before the sun comes up, so her mother can stay home with her younger siblings.

“When you send your daughter to fetch water in the early morning, you are scared for her.”
